Honeywell CIU888 Enraf Tank Gauging Communication Interface Unit

CIU888 is Honeywell's Enraf communication interface unit for tank inventory applications. It scans tank gauges, processes measurement and inventory data, and supplies that information to operational and control-room host systems.

CIU888 supports a database of 80 tanks when one gauge is assigned to each tank, or 40 tanks when two gauges are assigned to each tank. Confirm the licensed software and installed configuration.

CIU888 provides three Modbus TCP/IP Ethernet host connections and two Modbus serial host ports. Up to four additional serial host ports can be configured through suitable option slots.

CIU888 has six option slots for field and host communication cards. Honeywell documents Enraf BPM, serial Modbus master, serial GPU input and TRL/2 fieldbus options; verify the installed card code before replacement.

CIU888 accepts 100–240 VAC at 45–65 Hz, with 60 VA maximum and 35 VA nominal consumption. Honeywell specifies 0 to +60 °C operation and 0–90% relative humidity without condensation.

CIU888 measures 400 × 93 × 283 mm and weighs approximately 7.5 kg without option cards. Honeywell supports wall mounting, 19-inch rack mounting or tabletop installation using the appropriate accessories.

CIU888 replacement requires the complete hardware and software identification codes, installed option cards, tank count, host protocols, redundancy arrangement, power supply, firmware status and quantity. Do not approve substitution using the CIU family name alone.
