1. What is the 3300 XL 8 mm Proximity Transducer System used for?
It is used for vibration and position measurements on fluid-film bearing machines (e.g., compressors, turbines, pumps), as well as Keyphasor reference and speed measurements. The 8 mm system is the most rugged and commonly used eddy current proximity transducer in Bently Nevada's product line.
2. Is this probe approved for hazardous areas?
Yes. Option E = 05 means the probe has CSA, ATEX, and IECEx approvals for use in hazardous locations. Refer to the Temperature Schedule in the datasheet for T-class vs. ambient temperature limits (e.g., T5 @ -55°C to +40°C, T4 @ -55°C to +80°C).
3. What is the recommended gap setting?
The recommended gap is 1.27 mm (50 mils). The linear range is 2 mm (80 mils), from approximately 0.25 mm to 2.3 mm, corresponding to an output voltage of approximately -1 Vdc to -17 Vdc.
