The 330173-00-04-20-12-05 3300 5 mm probe improves upon previous designs. A patented TipLoc molding method provides a more robust bond between the probe tip and the probe body. The 3300 5 mm system is orderable with Fluidloc cable options for preventing oil and other liquids from leaking out of the machine through the cable’s interior.

When should I use a 5 mm probe over a standard 8 mm probe? The 5 mm probe (such as the 330173) is specifically designed for confined installations with counterbore, side-view, or rear-view restrictions. It is also the ideal choice for small targets, such as measuring vibration on shafts smaller than 51 mm (2 inches) or axial position on flat surfaces smaller than 15 mm (0.6 inches).
What is the benefit of the "12" (FluidLoc) cable option? The FluidLoc internal cable option features a specialized internal barrier. It prevents oil, process gases, or moisture from leaking out of the machine housing through the inside of the cable jacket, securing the enclosure integrity over time.
What extension cable and proximity sensor are compatible with this probe? The 330173 probe must be matched with a 3300 XL NSv extension cable and a 3300 XL NSv Proximitor Sensor to ensure correct linear scaling and calibration. Do not mix it with standard 8 mm 3300 XL Proximitors.

The 3300 5 mm Proximity Transducer System consists of:
a 3300 5 mm probe
a 3300 XL extension cable(ref 141194-01)
a 3300 XL Proximitor Sensor(ref 141194-01)
When combined with a 3300 XL Proximitor Sensor and XL extension cable, the system provides an output voltage that is directly proportional to the distance between the probe tip and the observed conductive surface. The system can measure both static (position) and dynamic (vibration) data. Its primary use is in vibration and position measurement applications on fluid-film bearing machines, as well as Keyphasor measurement and speed measurement applications
